HARTFORD — Multiple organizations in the city have teamed up to host a gun buyback on Saturday on Windsor Street.
Those who turn in functioning guns will be offered a Stop & Shop gift card:
-$200 for an assault rifle
-$100 for a handgun or revolver
-$25 for a shotgun or rifle
Involved in the buyback are the city, the police department, the hospitals, the state's attorney, the Community Renewal Team and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
According to the organizers involved, the guns can be turned in anonymously, but should be placed, unloaded, in a clear plastic bag inside a paper bag or box.
It is being held at the Community Renewal Team Building at 555 Windsor St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
